About Achmea Australia
At Achmea Farm Insurance, our vision is to protect and enhance a sustainable future for agricultural communities.
With strong cooperative roots dating back to 1811 in the Netherlands, we partner with Australian farmers to protect their livelihoods, strengthen resilience and help keep farmers farming.
About the role
We’re looking for a curious and proactive Security Analyst to join our IT Security and Governance team in Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Information Security Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of Achmea Farm Insurance’s security controls across incident response, vulnerability management, data protection, identity and access security, and security monitoring. Key responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Support remediation activities and security improvements across the business.
- Assist with data protection, insider risk and security investigations, including documenting findings and handling evidence appropriately.
- Support identity, endpoint and cloud security controls.
- Manage security requests and activities through Jira Service Management.
- Assist with audits, control testing, and technology and supplier security assessments, including AI-enabled and emerging technologies.
- Prepare security reports, metrics and documentation.
- Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives.
About you
Must-have
- 1-3 years' experience in cybersecurity, IT operations or a related technical role.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity or IT.
- Working knowledge across security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, identity security, endpoint protection and cloud security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high level of integrity and discretion.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with, or demonstrated capability to learn, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune, Purview and Defender for Cloud.
- Experience using Jira Service Management.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, KQL or other scripting tools.
- Exposure to audits, control testing or supplier security reviews.
- Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, the ACSC Essential Eight, APRA CPS 234 or APRA CPS 230.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, or equivalent are advantageous.
Why join Achmea Farm Insurance?
- Competitive salary package
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
- Five weeks annual leave plus volunteer leave
- Life insurance and salary continuance cover
- Study support and ongoing professional development
- Build practical experience across Microsoft security technologies, investigations and security risk management
