Security Analyst

Duties

• Monitor and analyze security events using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security risk investigations across network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
• Manage and configure firewalls such as Cisco ASA and implement network security protocols like IPsec, SSL, and VPNs to protect data transmission.
• Support incident response efforts by investigating security breaches, coordinating recovery actions, and documenting findings according to established procedures.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of system security plans aligned with standards such as ISO 27002, FIPS, and FedRAMP.
• Collaborate with IT teams to harden systems through system security configurations, patch management, and system hardening techniques on operating systems like Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS), and macOS.
• Participate in security engineering projects involving cloud architecture (Azure, Google Cloud Platform), virtualization (vSphere), load balancing, and high availability solutions to enhance overall network resilience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with computer networking concepts including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network support, LAN/WAN architecture, and network management.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk, SolarWinds), IDS/IPS systems, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and threat detection & response methodologies.
• Familiarity with security standards like ISO 27001/27002, NIST frameworks, PCI DSS compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks (RMF).
• Hands-on knowledge of firewall configuration (Cisco ASA), VPN setup (IPsec), IDS/IPS deployment, and network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Skills in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of security tasks; experience with cybersecurity tools like Nmap or Fiddler is a plus.
• Ability to perform vulnerability research, vulnerability assessments, system hardening practices, and incident management within complex IT environments.
• Educational background in computer science or information technology; relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
