Security Architect

We're working with a large, well-established New Zealand organisation looking to strengthen its security architecture capability as it continues to invest in technology transformation and cloud adoption.
With a growing pipeline of work and an increasing focus on AWS, there are multiple opportunities for experienced security professionals to join an established architecture and security practice.
We're interested in speaking with people across intermediate, senior and principal levels who bring strong technical foundations, practical security architecture experience and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and technology teams.

About the Role
You'll work across a range of technology initiatives, helping design secure, scalable solutions and ensuring security is considered throughout the architecture and delivery process.
Depending on your experience, you'll be involved in:

• Designing and reviewing security architectures across cloud, infrastructure and enterprise technology environments.
• Supporting the organisation's increasing adoption of AWS and ensuring appropriate security controls and standards are in place.
• Working across AWS and Azure environments, providing guidance on cloud security architecture and best practices.
• Providing security input into solution designs, technology projects and transformation programmes.
• Collaborating with solution architects, infrastructure engineers, developers and other technology teams.
• Identifying security risks, recommending practical controls and ensuring solutions align with security standards.
• Contributing to security architecture frameworks, design patterns, technical roadmaps and governance processes.
• For more senior positions, providing technical leadership and helping shape the organisation's broader security strategy.

What We're Looking For: We're looking for technically strong security professionals who understand how enterprise technology environments fit together and can apply security principles in a practical way.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience in security architecture, cloud security, infrastructure security or a closely related technical security role.
• Strong AWS security knowledge, including experience designing or securing AWS environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and an understanding of cloud security principles.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including firewalls, network segmentation, routing, connectivity and network security.
• Experience designing secure solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• An understanding of security architecture principles, frameworks and controls.
• The ability to engage with technical teams and stakeholders, communicate security requirements and influence solution designs.
• CISSP certification, working towards CISSP, or equivalent practical security knowledge.
• Exposure to SABSA or other architecture frameworks would be advantageous.

For the more senior opportunities, we're particularly interested in candidates who have led security architecture work across major technology programmes and contributed to enterprise security strategy and roadmaps.
