Application Security Architect (Contract)

You’ll be the go-to person for application and DevOps security across a global organisation’s transformation programmes. You’ll shape how security is built into new platforms from the start, not added at the end, and help the wider technology teams build a stronger security culture.

The essentials

• Rate: €500 to €550 per day
• Location: UK or Europe
• Contract role

What you’ll actually do

• Act as the main point of contact for application, DevOps and solution stack security across the organisation’s global transformation programmes.
• Review and assess security architecture across those programmes, and help refine the application security framework so it lines up with global information security policies and standards.
• Carry out risk analysis and threat modelling, build security architecture plans and set out remediation actions, raising any control gaps with security leadership.
• Embed a secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) into DevOps delivery, including secure coding practices and SAST, SCA and DAST tooling.
• Make sure AI capabilities are integrated securely into applications and platforms, with the right controls and threat models in place.
• Manage and triage application security vulnerabilities, coordinate penetration testing and turn findings into structured remediation plans.

What you’ll need

Essential

• Experience as an application security architect, or in a similar senior application security role, including documenting security architecture and designing controls.
• Hands-on risk analysis and threat modelling for applications and platforms.
• Experience building or embedding SSDLC processes within DevOps environments.
• Experience securing the integration of AI into applications or platforms.
• Experience triaging vulnerabilities and building practical remediation plans.
• Confidence explaining security to technical and non-technical teams, including giving guidance and training.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with SAST, SCA and DAST tooling.
• Experience coordinating penetration testing.
• A track record of helping development teams adopt secure coding practices.
