Advanced Perimeter Systems is launching a new CCTV division, and we’re looking for an experienced CCTV engineer who enjoys working with customers and wants to develop into technical sales over time.

This is an opportunity to join at the beginning, influence how the division operates and play a key role in its growth. Initially, your focus will be on surveying, installing, commissioning and maintaining CCTV systems. As the division develops, your role will increasingly involve system design, quotations, customer relationships and winning new business.

You do not need to be an experienced salesperson already. We’re looking for strong technical ability, a professional approach and the ambition to develop your commercial skills.

The role

Working closely with APS management, you will:

• Carry out site surveys and understand customers’ security requirements.
• Design and recommend suitable CCTV solutions, including cameras, recording, storage and network requirements.
• Install, configure, test and commission CCTV systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and carry out servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Provide clear customer handovers and practical guidance on system operation.
• Maintain accurate survey, installation, commissioning and service records.
• Help establish the division’s technical procedures and installation standards, supporting our planned work towards NSI Gold approval.
• Coordinate with subcontractors where required to maintain quality and consistency.

Your progression into sales

As your commercial experience grows, you will take greater responsibility for preparing quotations, following up enquiries, presenting proposals and developing customer accounts.

You will use your engineering knowledge to explain solutions clearly, identify opportunities for installations, upgrades and monitoring services, and help customers choose systems that meet their needs.

Progression will develop alongside your capabilities and the needs of the division, with an increasing focus on technical sales and business development.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience installing, commissioning and maintaining CCTV systems.
• A good understanding of IP CCTV, networking, recording systems and fault finding.
• The ability to survey sites and turn customer requirements into practical solutions.
• Confidence working independently, organising jobs and taking ownership of quality.
• Clear communication skills and a professional, approachable manner with customers.
• Good attention to detail, including accurate technical documentation.
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel within the agreed service area.
• A genuine interest in progressing into technical sales.

Experience preparing quotations, working within an NSI-approved business, supporting audits or overseeing subcontractors would be an advantage.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
