Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer Lead – Safe Browsing , you will lead a team responsible for analyzing and addressing online threats at scale.

You’ll combine security operations, web security analysis, SQL/Python-based data analysis, technical reviews, and team leadership to improve the coverage, accuracy, and speed of threat detection and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of technical process analysts and specialists.
• Manage workload distribution, team performance, and development opportunities.
• Coordinate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Monitor and review SLAs and serve as a point of contact for workflow risks and issues.
• Analyze documented processes and playbooks and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct technical audits and reviews of code changes made by L3 and L4 teams.
• Perform complex data analysis to identify harmful entities, trends, patterns, and system vulnerabilities.
• Conduct static and dynamic analysis of potential threats, including phishing, malware, and social engineering.
• Use data-driven analysis to support decisions around online threats and system vulnerabilities.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, web security analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Strong experience querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL .
• Experience using a data-focused programming language such as Python .
• Knowledge of the internet threat landscape, particularly phishing, malware, or vulnerabilities .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with close attention to detail.
• 2+ years of people management and performance management experience.

Good-to-Have

• Experience managing a technical team.
• Knowledge of OWASP vulnerabilities and/or Exploit Kits .
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with shell or batch scripting .
• Experience with statistical analysis tools such as R, Stata, or SAS .
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
• Experience prioritizing competing stakeholder requirements and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to identify and prioritize actionable steps toward resolution.
