Security Engineer

A global, long-term investment management firm with a strong reputation and a growing technology investment is hiring a hands-on Security Engineer. The firm treats technology as a real source of investment edge and is modernising its core platform, data and AI capability. This role sits in a small, high-impact Security Engineering & Operations team with real ownership and autonomy.

The role

• Own and operate the SIEM platform: log onboarding, alert tuning, dashboards and resilience
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex security incidents, from triage to post-incident review
• Build and tune detection content based on threat intelligence and emerging threats
• Strengthen endpoint, identity, data protection and AWS security controls
• Drive vulnerability management and remediation with Infrastructure teams
• Automate security workflows using scripting and AI-assisted tooling

What we're looking for

• Hands-on security engineering or operations experience in an enterprise environment
• Strong Splunk experience (administration, SPL, alerting)
• Experience with Microsoft security tooling (Defender, Intune, Purview or equivalent) and vulnerability management platforms
• Proven incident response experience, including running IR playbooks
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell or Terraform
• Clear communicator who can explain technical risk to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have: Splunk ES/SOAR, detection engineering with MITRE ATT&CK, Palo Alto, AWS security, and financial services experience.
