Security Engineer

Principal Network Security Engineer (DDoS / BGP) – French Speaking

Location: UK or Ireland (Remote) | European Travel Required

We are recruiting on behalf of an established international network security technology vendor specialising in DDoS protection, traffic intelligence and network visibility.

The company works with telecom operators, service providers, large enterprises and government organisations to protect critical networks against cyberattacks and service disruption.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Network Security Engineer to support customers across Europe in deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting advanced DDoS protection and network visibility solutions.

This is a senior, customer-facing technical role requiring strong networking knowledge, particularly BGP, TCP/IP and DDoS mitigation, alongside the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

The position is remote-based in the UK or Ireland, with European travel. Fluent French and English are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert for customers deploying and operating network security platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, routing and security issues.
• Support DDoS detection, mitigation and incident response.
• Reproduce customer issues in lab environments to diagnose faults and software defects.
• Optimise and tune deployed solutions to improve performance and security.
• Plan and support software upgrades, maintenance and technical changes.
• Work closely with internal engineering, product and support teams to resolve escalations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to customer engineering teams.
• Participate in on-call support for critical incidents when required.

Required Experience

• 5–8+ years' experience in network engineering, technical support or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP and network routing.
• Practical experience with DDoS detection and mitigation technologies.
• Understanding of network traffic analysis and visibility technologies, including NetFlow.
• Experience working with telecom operators, service providers or large enterprise networks.
• Working knowledge of Linux and scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.
• Fluent French and English.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with network testing tools such as IXIA or Spirent.
• Experience supporting large-scale, internet-facing networks.
• Previous experience working for a network security or DDoS technology vendor.
