Security Engineer - Detection and Response

For our client, we are seeking a Security Engineer - Detection and Response to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will focus on strengthening the organization’s security posture by improving threat detection, alert triage, and incident response capabilities. You will work closely with security operations and engineering partners to build scalable workflows, automate analysis, and increase visibility into threats across a modern SaaS-oriented environment.

The position also offers the opportunity to apply AI-driven automation and detection-as-code practices to improve effectiveness, reduce response time, and support a more resilient security function.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $132,948 – $189,927 annually

Responsibilities

• Identify detection opportunities and define telemetry requirements
• Develop, test, tune, and maintain security detections
• Investigate alerts and participate in incident containment
• Build investigation workflows for alert triage and response
• Enhance threat identification using internal and external intelligence
• Create AI workflows to automate aspects of detection and response
• Measure detection effectiveness and tune accordingly

Qualifications

• 3+ years in security operations, incident response, or threat detection
• Proficiency with security platforms such as SIEM, EDR, or SOAR
• Experience with coding or automation tools for security analysis, preferably Python
• Familiarity with modern detection-as-code practices and CI/CD
• Knowledge of threats affecting SaaS-oriented environments
