Our client is a California-based telecommunications and technology services company specializing in critical low-voltage infrastructure. The company provides consulting, design, project management, construction administration, and integration services across structured cabling, IT, security, access control, and audio visual systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to manage commercial security projects from kickoff through completion and closeout.

This role combines technical security systems knowledge with project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will coordinate technical documentation, procurement, installation, programming, commissioning, scheduling, and other project requirements while ensuring projects remain organized and aligned with client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage commercial security projects from kickoff through completion and closeout.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate Bills of Materials (BOMs), submittals, RFIs, procurement, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with field installation teams and other project stakeholders.
• Support programming and commissioning activities.
• Manage project schedules and change orders.
• Coordinate project activities to support timely completion.
• Assist with billing and project closeout requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• 5+ years of experience working with commercial security systems.
• Experience with access control systems.
• Experience with CCTV systems.
• Experience with intercom systems.
• Understanding of networking and IP requirements related to security systems.
• Knowledge of security system design.
• Strong ability to review drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience coordinating procurement, installation, programming, commissioning, and project documentation.
• Project management and/or engineering experience preferred.

Experience with the following enterprise security platforms is preferred:

• Verkada
• Maxxess
• Axis
• Hanwha
• Similar enterprise security platforms

Candidates with strong commercial security experience using comparable platforms may also be considered.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial security systems knowledge with project management capabilities. They should be comfortable working with technical drawings and specifications while coordinating schedules, documentation, vendors, field teams, and other project stakeholders.
