Security guard - Casual Hours

K9 Protection Ltd are a local security company in Cardiff & Newport. We are an SIA Approved Contractor and have been in business since 2011.

Job Role

K9 Protection require casual guards who are looking for occasional hours to fit around your other commitments - we have some increased customer requirements on the horizon which are going to require additional staff on a casual basis.

Each guarding site will have slightly different requirements but will involve an element of patrolling, report writing and filling in of digital notes.

You will be paid via PAYE. Our pay day is on 10th of each month and includes the calendar month leading up to that day.

All bank holidays are paid at time and a half. Christmas day, New Year's day & Easter Sunday are all paid at double time.

This is a real living wage position and the base wage will track the real living wage at all times. Any rate advertised over the real living wage is subject to achieving KPIs based around timekeeping & patrol adherence.

Person Profile

You will be required to be able to work to a set of assignment instructions and follow instructions from our operations team.

You will be required to communicate fluently in English or Welsh - this includes when in conversation with the client's staff and our operations team but also when writing reports.

You will be required to provide suitable evidence of your employment for the last five years in order to satisfy BS7858.

Ideally, you will be looking for occasional hours to fit around your life as hours available will fluctuate. This is not a full time role hidden as zero hours.

What We Supply

All staff will be provided with full uniform and safety-wear which is appropriate to the type of site and seasonal weather. You will be required to wear company provided uniform at all times when on site.

You will be provided with a site phone which allows you to interact with our staff portal and log your patrols on our system.

Basics like torches, pens etc will be provided on site.

Pay: £13.88-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
