Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and ensure safety across all areas
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security risks or breaches
• Control access points by verifying identification and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, providing first aid or CPR when necessary and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders
• Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact, de-escalating disputes and ensuring safety for all parties
• Perform loss prevention activities by observing for theft or vandalism and reporting suspicious behavior
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks to ensure accurate record-keeping

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is preferred
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly desirable
• Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and experience with loss prevention techniques
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Familiarity with security protocols, emergency response procedures, and legal regulations governing security work
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while maintaining alertness throughout shifts
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and emergency responders
