A Security Guard is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas regularly to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and security systems.
• Control access to buildings and facilities by checking identification and visitor passes.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and security breaches.
• Write detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
• Assist employees, visitors, and customers when needed.
• Conduct security inspections and safety checks.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and management when required.
• Enforce company policies and security procedures.
• Investigate suspicious activities and report findings to supervisors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security guard license/certification (if required by local regulations).
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of security procedures and safety regulations.
• Good report-writing and record-keeping skills.

Working Conditions

• May work day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Work environments may include offices, warehouses, retail stores, hospitals, schools, or residential properties.
• Requires regular walking, standing, and monitoring activities.
