Little Magic Bar & Kitchen — Johnson City, TN

Part-Time | $18–$25/hour, based on experience

Little Magic Bar & Kitchen is looking for professional, dependable, and experienced security team members to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for our guests and staff.

Our security team plays an important role in keeping the venue organized and safe while providing a positive guest experience. We’re looking for people who can remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and handle difficult situations professionally.

Candidates with TN security license and/or previous bar, nightclub, venue, security, or crowd-management experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor entrances, exits, and guest activity.
• Check IDs and enforce house policies and age requirements.
• Help maintain a safe and controlled environment throughout the venue.
• De-escalate conflicts and address problematic behavior professionally.
• Monitor guest capacity and communicate concerns to management.
• Assist with responding to incidents and emergencies.
• Work closely with bartenders, management, and other security team members.
• Maintain a professional presence while treating guests and staff respectfully.
• Complete incident reports or communicate significant incidents to management.

• Understands when to de-escalate and when to involve management or emergency services.

• Can enforce policies consistently without unnecessarily escalating situations.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
• Has previous security, nightlife, hospitality, law enforcement, military, or crowd-management experience — preferred but not required.

Why Little Magic?

Little Magic is a busy downtown bar and restaurant with a strong nightlife presence, especially on weekends. Our goal is to create an environment where guests can have a great time while staff feel safe and supported.

Security is an important part of that experience. We want a team that understands that the job isn’t simply about removing people — it’s about prevention, awareness, communication, and knowing how to handle situations appropriately.

Compensation: $18–$25/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule: Primarily evenings and weekends, with additional opportunities for events.
