Security Guard

Main Objectives:

· Monitor and patrol the premises to prevent and identify security risks.

· Monitor any lone working within the staff pool

· Control access and egress of staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles.

· Check identification and maintain accurate visitor and access records.

· Monitor CCTV and security systems where required.

· Carry out regular internal and external patrols.

· Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents and emergencies.

· Report and record security incidents, accidents and suspicious activity.

· Liaise with emergency services when required.

· Enforce site security procedures and company policies.

· Conduct regular checks of doors, gates, restricted areas and other security-sensitive locations.

· Provide assistance and a professional first point of contact for visitors and staff.

· Complete daily occurrence books, handover notes and other required documentation.

· Maintain confidentiality and protect company and client information.

· Report any health and safety, fire or security concerns to the appropriate person.

· Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the security role.

Requirements

· Valid SIA Licence appropriate to the role.

· Previous security experience is desirable.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

· Professional appearance and positive attitude.

· Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult or challenging situations.

· Good observation and situational awareness.

· Ability to complete written reports and maintain accurate records.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to work the required 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays where applicable.

Desirable

· Previous experience working in a similar security environment.

· Full Driving License as we do have multiple sites across the South Wales area and frequent visits is required.

· CCTV experience.

· Experience using access-control systems and other security technology.

Shift Pattern: 4 Days/Nights on / 4 days off

Hours: 6am – 6pm or 6pm - 6am, with a paid 30-minute break and an unpaid 30-minute break

Salary: £14 per hour
