About the Role

GSS Solutions Ltd is looking for reliable, professional and customer-focused Seasonal Security Officers to support our team in Harlow during the busy festive period.

This is an ad-hoc temporary position, ideal for individuals seeking flexible seasonal work over Christmas and New Year (15/11/2026 - 05/01/2027). Shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis in line with operational requirements, so hours may vary and regular weekly hours are not guaranteed.

You will help maintain a safe and secure environment during one of the busiest times of the year, providing a visible security presence and excellent customer service.

We are looking for individuals who are punctual, approachable, alert and able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence and help deter theft, antisocial behaviour and other security incidents.
• Monitor premises and identify potential security risks.
• Provide a friendly, professional and helpful presence for customers, staff and visitors.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, following company procedures.
• Carry out patrols and monitor access points where required.
• Report suspicious activity, incidents and safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with crowd management and queue control when necessary.
• Complete incident reports and handovers accurately.
• Work effectively as part of a team to maintain a safe environment throughout the festive period.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid SIA licence appropriate to the duties of the role.
• A professional, presentable and customer-focused attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to remain calm and make sensible decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to accept ad-hoc shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Previous security experience is desirable.
