Location: Mechanicsville, VA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000-$55,000, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-6:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM

About Us

Virginia Recovery Centers provides substance use treatment services to individuals working toward recovery. Our team is committed to creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients can focus on healing. We’re looking for a dependable Security Officer to help us maintain that environment every day.

What You’ll Do

• Screen every client at arrival using a handheld security wand
• Search client belongings according to facility procedures
• Enforce facility rules and policies consistently, professionally, and respectfully
• Serve lunch to clients each day
• Monitor the facility and client activity to keep the environment safe
• Intervene to de-escalate conflicts
• Report incidents, policy violations, and safety concerns to leadership
• Maintain a calm, professional presence with clients, staff, and visitors

What We’re Looking For

• Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility
• Able to stay calm under pressure and use good judgment in tense situations
• Comfortable with firm but respectful communication
• Able to stand, walk, and remain alert for long periods, and to respond physically to emergencies
• Able to pass a background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior security, corrections, or behavioral health experience preferred
• De-escalation or crisis intervention training is a plus
• Compassion and respect for people in recovery

Schedule

• Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-6:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Paid one-hour break each day
• No nights, no weekends
