Security Guard | Part-Time | The Paramount Baltimore

Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, performers, vendors, and contractors at the arena. This position provides crowd management, access control, emergency response, and general security services during events and non-event days while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with venue policies.

This role pays an hourly rate $22.50.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds inside and outside of the convention center, observing and reacting to irregularities such as prowlers, fire, or potential causes of fire, or other potential causes of loss or damage to property.
• Involve other safety, fire, and city patrol officials as the situation warrants. Prepare associated reports and involve others as the situation merits.
• Monitors fire panel for complex at all times.
• During facility events, directs and controls the flow of patrons, responding to questions, providing direction, and reacting to situations requiring support and intervention.
• Involve other safety, fire, and city patrol officials as the situation warrants. Prepare associated reports and involve others as the situation merits.
• Ensure that facility and ground lights are set (on/off) as necessary and that facility doors and property gates are properly secured.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 year of related security guard experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with 2-way radios.
• Teamwork-oriented and positive attitude to welcome guests.
