Job Description

As a Security Guard Unarmed Patrol Alarm Panel Support in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming experience for shoppers, tenants, and visitors. You will communicate professionally, respond to security-related concerns, and work collaboratively with the Allied Universal team. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail center, common areas, parking facilities, loading areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete detailed activity reports and communicate relevant information to site management, law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
