Security Installation Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of security systems, including CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, access control, fire alarms, and low voltage wiring. Your expertise will ensure that our clients’ facilities are protected with reliable, state-of-the-art security solutions. Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot security systems such as CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), fire alarms, and access control devices in commercial and residential settings
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system setup
• Conduct cabling, low voltage wiring, and electrical connections using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety standards
• Configure remote access software for system monitoring and management
• Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance
• Provide on-site service support by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting system upgrades
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure installation meets specifications and client expectations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician or installer in security or telecommunication systems
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and cabling
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts essential for system integration and remote access setup
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately
• Knowledge of security system components such as sensors, CCTV cameras, alarms, locks, and surveillance equipment
• Experience working with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards or similar electrical codes preferred
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and fire alarm installation equipment safely and effectively
• Background in construction or telecommunications is advantageous for complex installations
