The Role

We are looking for a professional, reliable and customer-focused Security Officer / CCTV Operative to join our team at Royal Priors Shopping Centre in Leamington Spa.

This is a varied and responsible security position combining front-line security duties, CCTV monitoring and control-room responsibilities.

Working on a 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern, you will work 12-hour shifts to provide consistent security coverage across the shopping centre.

You will play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for customers, retailers, contractors and colleagues.

The successful candidate will be confident operating CCTV systems, have strong observation skills and be capable of responding calmly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible, professional and customer-focused security presence throughout the shopping centre.
• Monitor CCTV systems and identify suspicious, unusual or potentially concerning activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies and alarms.
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols of the shopping centre and associated areas.
• Monitor access and egress points where required.
• Respond professionally to incidents involving theft, anti-social behaviour, suspicious activity and vulnerable persons.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily occurrence records and other operational documentation.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to CCTV alerts and security-related information.
• Liaise professionally with customers, retailers, contractors, colleagues and site management.
• Contact and liaise with emergency services when required.
• Support emergency procedures, evacuations and wider incident management.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, patrols and other security activities.
• Follow all site security procedures, risk assessments, safe systems of work and Health & Safety requirements.
• Identify and report hazards, defects and maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and consistently high standard of customer service.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• A valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence.
• Previous experience working within a professional security environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong observation skills and good situational awareness.
• The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive when dealing with incidents.
• Good written English and the ability to complete clear, accurate reports.
• A professional appearance and positive attitude.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach to security, safety and customer service.

CCTV Experience

An SIA CCTV licence/qualification is highly desirable.

Previous experience in:

• CCTV monitoring
• Control-room operations
• Security monitoring
• Incident management systems

would be a significant advantage.

Desirable Experience

Previous security experience within any of the following environments would be advantageous:

• Shopping centres
• Retail environments
• CCTV or control rooms
• Commercial security
• Customer-facing security operations

However, we are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate the right professional attitude, reliability, communication skills and commitment to delivering high standards.

Shift Pattern

4 Days On / 4 Days Off

12-hour shifts

This is a rotating shift pattern providing a consistent working schedule. The role includes weekend and public holiday working as part of the normal rota.

Candidates must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts and participating in a rotating 4-on, 4-off schedule.

Pay

£13.27 per hour

42 hours per week – pro rata
