Shopping Centre Security Officer

Location: [Shopping Centre / Town]
Shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
We are looking for a professional and approachable Security Officer to join our team at a busy shopping centre. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for customers, retail staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular patrols throughout the shopping centre and surrounding areas.
• Check in with shop staff and respond to any security concerns.
• Monitor for suspicious behaviour, hazards, and safety issues.
• Deal calmly and professionally with incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Complete accurate incident reports and daily security logs.
• Assist customers and provide a visible, reassuring security presence.
• Work closely with centre management, retailers, and emergency services when required.

What we're looking for

• A valid SIA licence.
• Previous security or customer-service experience is preferred.
• Good communication and conflict-management skills.
• A professional, reliable, and approachable manner.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently.
• Flexibility to work a 4 days on, 4 days off rota, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
