Security Officer

Due to continued growth, ALG Security have long-term opportunities for Security Officers to join our diverse team, working at customer sites close to where you live in North Wales.

ALG Security is a family-run business providing trusted security services across North Wales since 2017. We offer a range of services including manned guarding, key holding, alarm response and door supervision.

With our own training centre, we support employees to develop their skills and build long-term careers with us.

The Role

As a Security Officer, you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of environments including public buildings, schools, construction sites, and events, along with residential and commercial premises, helping to keep people and property safe.

Responsibilities may involve:

• Acting as a visible presence to help keep people and property safe
• Monitoring CCTV and carrying out patrols to identify and prevent security risks
• Responding to alarms, incidents and emergencies, providing first aid where required
• Maintaining accurate records and incident reports
• Liaising with emergency services and supporting investigations when required
• Enforcing site procedures and carrying out security equipment checks

About You

We're looking for enthusiastic people who want to build a career in security. You will also have:

• A valid SIA licence, or willingness to obtain one with our support (funding may be available, subject to eligibility)
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Good communication and English language skills, both spoken and written, with the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team

While not essential, the following are highly desirable:

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement or the armed forces
• Familiarity with surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques
• First Aid certification
• A valid UK driving licence; however, many sites we work at are on public transport routes, plus many team members choose to car share
