Security Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Unarmed Security Officer to join our team. This role is essential in helping maintain a safe, respectful, and secure environment for a vulnerable population, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health conditions, and substance use challenges.

As a Security Officer, you will be on the front lines of safety, supporting housing program operations by monitoring the facility, de-escalating conflicts, and ensuring the well-being of residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Valid California Guard Card (Required)

· CPR/First Aid certification (Preferred or required depending on site)

· Minimum of 2 year experience in security (preferred)

· Strong observational, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors

· Consistently punctual and reliable; must be able to arrive on time and be ready for duty at the start of each shift

· Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches (training provided if needed)
