Gatehouse Security Officer – Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a vigilant, reliable and proactive Security officer to join our team.

Job summary

• Manage the gatehouse and security of the site, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Administer and record all incoming and outgoing vehicle movements using site procedures and systems.
• Use Microsoft Excel, tablets, smartphones and site-specific equipment to maintain accurate records and complete daily tasks.
• Complete key room duties, including the secure issue, return and monitoring of site keys.
• Support site health and safety procedures and monitor vehicle movements around the premises and insure all staff and visitors are wearing hi visibility clothing
• Open buildings at the start of the working day and provide authorised access for staff arriving on site.
• Monitor and control incoming and outgoing security barriers.
• Carry out regular security patrols during the required site closure hours.
• Report and record any security, safety or access issues in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete all required training and become familiar with the software and equipment used on site.
• Workings hours are 05:00 - 17:00 daily.

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Sia licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills for conflict resolution and team handovers.
• Basic computer/phone literacy to operate logging software, check emails and operate software.

Administnative & compliance duties

• Write accurate reports detailing incidents and equipment status.
• Collaborate closely with emergency services when required.
• Follow strict guidelines regarding health, safety and site specific protocols.

Vetting & Screening

• Must be able to pass pre-empolyment screening to the current BS7858 standard

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 48.0 per week
