Security Officer

Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks
• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to oversee activity across the site
• Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations
• Respond swiftly to emergencies by following established procedures, including fire safety, medical incidents, or security breaches
• Write detailed incident reports documenting any suspicious activity or security incidents
• Perform background checks on new employees or visitors as part of the onboarding process
• Engage with visitors and staff professionally, providing excellent customer service while maintaining security standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in security roles or law enforcement is highly desirable
• Knowledge of surveillance technology, CCTV operation, and access control systems
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary
• Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and fire safety procedures required or willing to obtain upon hire
• Skills in conflict de-escalation, conflict management, and emergency response procedures
• Familiarity with law enforcement protocols and performing background checks is advantageous
• Strong physical security awareness with the ability to perform patrolling and CCTV monitoring effectively
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and incident report writing
• Valid firearm handling certification or Taser training is a plus but not mandatory
