Security Officer

In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring premises, preventing loss, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. Duties

• Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to monitor activity across the premises and identify potential security risks.
• Control access points by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Perform loss prevention activities by observing suspicious behavior and intervening when necessary to protect company assets.
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including providing first aid when required and coordinating with emergency responders.
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Conduct routine patrols of the facility to detect signs of tampering, theft, or safety hazards.
• Assist in training new team members on security protocols and surveillance procedures to promote a cohesive security team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security operations or related fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques and CCTV operation is essential for effective monitoring.
• Ability to perform loss prevention activities with keen observation skills and quick decision-making.
• Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable to respond effectively during medical emergencies.
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while maintaining focus on surveillance duties.
• MUST HOLD A VALID SIA LICENCE

Pay: £13.26 per hour

Expected hours: 42.0 – 60.0 per week
