What you'll do

• Control who and what enters the site: check badges and credentials, log visitors, contractors and deliveries.
• Walk foot patrols along fence lines, gates, laydown yards, buildings and equipment areas.
• Spot and report security and safety concerns like damaged fencing, unsecured equipment, trespassers, fire or hazards.
• Write clear Daily Activity Reports and incident reports before the end of every shift.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies by following site procedures and notifying your supervisor.
• Treat everyone on site with courtesy and professionalism.

What you need

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of work history in any field. One year of security experience is a strong plus.
• Able to pass a background check, drug screen and E-Verify.
• Eligible to obtain and keep an Alabama security officer license.
• Able to read, write and speak English well enough to write reports and talk on a radio.
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for reports.
• Prior security, military or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.

Physical demands

This is an active construction site. You must be able to do the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: stand and walk for an 8 to 12 hour shift, sit at a fixed post while staying alert, climb stairs, walk on uneven, rocky, muddy or gravel ground, work outdoors in heat, cold and rain, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and wear a hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety glasses and safety-toe boots for a full shift.
