Security Officer - Overnight Concierge & Ad Hoc Site Security

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a reliable, mature and professional Security Officer based in Adelaide to support our client's security operations across multiple sites.

The role will primarily involve overnight concierge and contractor supervision, with additional day and afternoon shifts available at other locations, including retail and community sites.

Current work is approximately 30–40 hours per fortnight, with the workload expected to grow as additional requirements become available. This is a part-time, position. Flexibility and availability across different days, times and locations are essential.

Typical Shifts:

The current roster generally includes:

• Overnight concierge: Student accommodation facility - typically Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 pm to 1:00 am or 2:00 am.
• Day shifts: Community and public-facing sites - typically Sundays, 6:00 am to 1:30 pm.
• Afternoon shifts: Retail security sites - occasional shifts, typically around 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

These are indicative shift patterns based on current requirements and may vary depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional concierge and security services during overnight shifts.
• Monitor site access and ensure only authorised personnel enter the premises.
• Supervise contractors undertaking approved store fit-outs, renovations and other works.
• Facilitate contractor access to loading docks, entrances and exits.
• Monitor contractor activities and report safety, security or operational concerns.
• Respond appropriately to fire alarms and Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) activations in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct security checks and maintain a visible security presence.
• Assist staff, contractors and visitors professionally.
• Complete shift reports and communicate incidents to management.
• Undertake additional security duties and ad hoc shifts across other sites when required.

About You:

The successful candidate will be dependable, well-presented and comfortable working independently, particularly during overnight shifts.

You will have:

• A professional and customer-focused approach.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Good judgement and the ability to follow site procedures.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to supervise contractors and manage site access responsibly.
• Flexibility to work overnight, afternoon and occasional early-morning shifts.
• Availability to travel between different Adelaide sites as required.

PAY RATES:

• Monday - Friday (Day): $28.42 per hour
• Monday - Friday (Night): $34.59 per hour
• Saturday: $42.63 per hour
• Sunday: $56.84 per hour
• Public Holidays: $71.05 per hour

Mandatory Requirements:

Applicants must hold the relevant current licences, clearances and accreditations required for the position, including:

• Valid South Australian security licence.
• Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Current First Aid accreditation.
• Current National Police Clearance (this will be discussed).

Evidence of licences and qualifications will be required during the recruitment process.

Hours and Employment Conditions:

• Approximately 30–40 hours per fortnight currently available.
• Primarily overnight shifts, with additional day and afternoon shifts as required.
• Work is expected to increase as further opportunities become available.
• Flexibility to work across multiple sites is essential.
