Position Overview

St. Camillus is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Security Officer to serve as both the first point of contact for visitors and a key member of our campus safety team. This dual-role position combines security responsibilities with front desk operations, ensuring residents, guests, and employees experience a safe and welcoming environment at all times.

The ideal candidate is observant, calm under pressure, and passionate about providing exceptional service while maintaining a secure community.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular security rounds of campus buildings and parking areas.
• Monitor entrances and help maintain campus safety and security.
• Welcome, assist, and direct residents, visitors, families, and guests.
• Operate the switchboard and paging systems, answer and route incoming calls.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor resident Morning Check-In Services and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
• Report unusual conditions, maintenance issues, safety concerns, and suspicious activity.
• Respond appropriately during emergencies and contact emergency services when necessary.
• Accurately document incidents, safety concerns, and emergency situations.
• Receive and communicate resident and visitor feedback to appropriate departments.
• Distribute mail, packages, and employee paychecks according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Demonstrate courtesy, patience, and respect in every interaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify and respond appropriately to unusual or emergency situations.
• Ability to work weekends and some holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of security experience.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and systems.
• Experience working with communication systems, switchboards, and office equipment.
