Security Overnight Supervisor

Job Summary

STS Security, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable, and professional Security Overnight Supervisor to oversee overnight security operations. This position is responsible for supervising security officers, maintaining site coverage, enforcing company and client policies, responding to incidents, and ensuring all assigned locations remain properly staffed and secure throughout the overnight shift.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is reliable, able to make sound decisions independently, and comfortable addressing employee performance and security-related issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support security officers assigned to overnight shifts.
• Ensure all scheduled posts are properly staffed and officers report to work on time.
• Conduct site and post inspections to verify officers are following company and client procedures.
• Respond promptly to call-offs, emergencies, incidents, and other overnight operational issues.
• Monitor officer attendance, punctuality, uniform compliance, and job performance.
• Provide coaching and corrective direction when necessary.
• Ensure officers remain alert and attentive while on duty.
• Communicate with management regarding incidents, staffing concerns, and employee performance.
• Complete and review incident reports, shift reports, and other required documentation.
• Assist with coordinating coverage when an officer calls off or fails to report for duty.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, employees, visitors, and management.
• Enforce STS Security policies, post orders, and client-specific requirements.
• Respond to emergencies and escalate serious incidents to management or emergency services when appropriate.
• Perform other supervisory and security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Must have an active Illinois PERC card.
• Must have completed the required 20-Hour Security Training.
• Must possess a valid government-issued ID and Social Security card.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license preferred/required depending on assignment.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be dependable and available to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or challenging situations.
• Ability to use a smartphone and required scheduling/timekeeping applications.
• Must be able to write clear and accurate incident reports.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a supervisor who leads by example. The Overnight Supervisor must be punctual, professional, responsive, and willing to take ownership of overnight operations. This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires regular communication with officers and management.

Pay Range: $21.00–$23.00 per hour
