Overnight Security Officer

Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 9:30 PM–8:00 AM

Position Summary
The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and staff during overnight hours. This position requires an alert, dependable individual who can work independently, conduct regular property checks, respond appropriately to alarms or security concerns, and document overnight activity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled overnight patrols of the entire property, including interior and exterior areas.
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, parking areas, and other designated areas for safety or security concerns.
• Check designated egress/emergency doors throughout the shift to ensure they are secure and functioning properly.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to security alerts, alarms, unusual activity, and resident concerns.
• Conduct regular exterior walks and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, property damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor cameras and other available security systems.
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
• Assist residents and guests with basic overnight needs and direct emergency situations to the appropriate personnel.
• Contact emergency services when necessary and cooperate with police, fire, EMS, or other emergency responders.
• Complete an accurate overnight security log documenting patrols, incidents, alarms, resident concerns, maintenance issues, and other noteworthy activity.
• Immediately report significant incidents or emergencies to management according to established procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and treat residents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and respect.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional security station/work area.
• Follow all community safety, emergency, and security procedures.
• Remain attentive and prepared throughout the entire shift. Sleeping or leaving the property while on duty is prohibited.
• Clock in and out according to the scheduled shift. Employees should not clock in more than 7 minutes before their scheduled start time.
• Perform other reasonable security and safety-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous security, military, law enforcement, healthcare, senior living, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Must be dependable and able to work independently overnight.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or difficult situations.
• Ability to walk the property and conduct routine interior and exterior patrols throughout the shift.
• Must be able to accurately complete written or electronic logs and incident reports.
• Must be comfortable interacting with senior residents in a professional and respectful manner.
• Must pass any required background screening and meet company hiring requirements.

Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 9:30 PM–8:00 AM

Location: The Villages at Murfreesboro

The ideal candidate is someone who understands that overnight security is about being present, observant, and proactive—not simply occupying a chair until morning.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
