Hollenbeck Protective Services is seeking a dependable, confident Security Patrol Officer for a part-time, unarmed position at a gated community in Kissimmee with numerous Airbnb and short-term rental homes.

This can be a challenging assignment requiring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain professional during confrontational situations. Former law enforcement experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the community, identify security concerns, and respond to reported disturbances, unauthorized access, and community rule violations.
• Communicate firmly and professionally with residents, visitors, rental guests, and individuals who may be argumentative or uncooperative.
• Use de-escalation techniques and sound judgment to manage difficult encounters.
• Issue and document trespass warnings when authorized, consistent with applicable law and site procedures.
• Prepare clear, factual, detailed incident reports describing observations, statements, actions taken, and outcomes.
• Use computers and security reporting software to maintain accurate activity logs and incident records.
• Coordinate professionally with responding law enforcement, clearly explain incidents, provide supporting documentation, and address questions or disagreements calmly and respectfully.
• Follow company policies, post orders, and established reporting procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Class “D” Security Officer License.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements for operating a patrol vehicle.
• Working knowledge of applicable local and Florida laws relevant to security duties, trespassing, and private property access.
• Strong report-writing skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and recognize the limits of a private security officer’s authority.
• Confidence handling challenging individuals while remaining calm, respectful, and professional.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
• Former law enforcement experience preferred; relevant security patrol experience strongly valued.

Required Schedule

Applicants must be available to work every Friday and Saturday, including holidays that fall on those days. Working holidays is mandatory. Additional workdays, including other holidays, may be scheduled based on community events and operational needs.

This position is best suited for someone comfortable with an active patrol assignment, detailed documentation, and frequent public interaction. It requires more than a passive security presence.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.15 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
