What they need

Overview

Healthcare facilities rely on secure, calm, and well-managed environments so medical staff can focus on patient care. As the Security Programs Manager for the Saint John region, you will oversee day-to-day security operations across our healthcare contracts, guide on-site security teams, and serve as the main point of contact for healthcare facility leaders.

This role offers a meaningful step into operational management. You will have direct responsibility for program delivery, staff development, and client satisfaction in a sector where safety makes a clear, everyday difference to the community.

What Success Looks Like

In your day-to-day work: You will visit assigned healthcare sites to support frontline security staff, review staffing levels, and address operational questions. You will communicate regularly with facility clients to address their needs, monitor incident reports, and ensure all sites meet safety and contractual standards.

Over time: Success means building a steady, well-trained team of security professionals who feel supported in their roles. You will improve emergency readiness across your assigned sites, maintain strong relationships with healthcare administrators, and ensure consistent operational quality across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee and maintain security programs across assigned healthcare sites to ensure complete contractual compliance.
  • Manage shift coverage, staffing schedules, and resource allocation to maintain required post coverage.
  • Ensure site-specific training, orientation, and emergency response plans are up to date and practiced by all team members.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, incident records, and safety documentation.

Team Development & Support

  • Provide leadership, constructive coaching, and day-to-day support to frontline security personnel.
  • Partner with Human Resources to interview, select, and onboard new security staff.
  • Conduct regular site visits to engage with staff, review work conditions, and resolve operational challenges quickly.
  • Promote a professional, fair, and respectful workplace culture across all shifts.

Client & Administrative Management

  • Build strong working relationships with healthcare facility leaders through regular check-ins and open communication.
  • Address client inquiries, operational feedback, and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare professional operational reports and security proposals when required.
  • Assist administrative teams with account reviews related to your assigned site portfolio.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel locally across assigned healthcare sites.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client meetings.
  • Working knowledge of standard safety regulations, privacy practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Comfort using standard computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience within the security, emergency services, or healthcare field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Post-secondary education or formal training in law enforcement, security management, or a related discipline.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time management position reporting directly to the Branch Manager. The role offers a flexible schedule to meet operational needs, with occasional travel across the Saint John region.

  • Salary: $55,000 CAD per year.
  • Medical and dental health insurance coverage.
  • Paid vacation time.
  • Flexible work arrangements based on operational requirements.
  • Clear pathways for career development within a growing organization.
