Security Service Engineer

Keep critical security systems running through fault finding, preventative maintenance and on-site service support across a diverse customer portfolio.

As a Security Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting a wide range of security systems, ensuring customers receive a reliable, professional and responsive service. Using your technical expertise, you will diagnose faults, carry out planned preventative maintenance and deliver small works to the highest standards.

This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and a commitment to quality. As the face of the business, you will build strong customer relationships and act as a professional ambassador for the company, helping to maintain our reputation as a trusted and respected provider of security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the National Service Manager and Service Admin team in all service-related activities
• Communicate confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensures all work is completed to a high standard and endeavour to meet contracted SLA’s
• Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks in a timely manner as directed by the Service Admin Team and National Service Manager
• Carry out small works projects and commissioning tasks, as and when required
• Maintain a standard van stock to give the best possible chance of achieving a first-time fix
• Work on a selection of key accounts in a pre-defined geographical area
• Timely submission of weekly timesheets to the National Service Manager
• Ensure all work activities are captured in real time through the engineering service application
• Carry out all compulsory internal and external training courses within given timeframes
• Be flexible in your approach to working hours and be available to carry out overtime should the need arise
• Follow Health & Safety procedures set out by the company to ensure the safety of you, your colleagues, and others
• Comply to the Company Health and Safety policy

Experience

• Extensive experience working on large-scale networked systems ranging across CCTV, IDS and Access Control Systems
• Experience working with a wide range of security products
• Must have a good awareness of industry codes and standards
• Work within the guidelines and processes as set out by the company
• You must have at least 5 years’ experience in the security industry
• Ability to fault find accurately

Skiils, abilities & personal qualities:

• Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc.
• Competent IT skills in the use of Microsoft office software such as Word and Excel as this is required for completion of reports, timesheets, asset registers etc
• Good customer service skills as you will be dealing with our high-end clients on a day to day basis.
