Position Summary

As the Security Shift Lead at Moneygun, you will serve as a role model for the security team and an extension of management during assigned lead shifts. This is a full-time role that will include both Shift Lead and regular security shifts based on scheduling needs. When scheduled as Shift Lead, you will take on additional leadership responsibilities for the security team.

You will be well-versed in the duties of all security positions and help set the standard for safety, service, teamwork, and genuine hospitality. You will lead by example, building trust and respect with the security team through consistency, professionalism, dependability, accountability, and clear communication.

Additional Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:

When Scheduled as Shift Lead:

• Lead the security team for the shift, working with the Manager on Duty on positioning and areas of focus.
• Act as an extension of management to manage venue capacity when the Manager on Duty is not present.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed while maintaining our standard of hospitality.
• Ensure security opening and closing duties are completed.
• Act as the point person for disturbances or conflicts alongside the Manager on Duty.

When Scheduled in a regular Security Team Member capacity:

• Greet guests upon arrival and ensure a positive first impression.
• Verify the age and identity of guests by checking IDs and ensuring compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
• Monitor guest behavior and address issues or concerns in a calm and professional manner.
• Patrol the premises to prevent and respond to potential security incidents.
• Manage crowd control during peak hours and respond to disturbances or conflicts.
• Ensure emergency exits remain accessible and safety protocols are followed.
• Work closely with the bar team and management to address guest-related issues or concerns.
• Assist with managing large crowds or special events as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a strong security presence.
• Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements:

About You

• Previous security experience in bars, nightlife, or hospitality environments preferred.
• Previous leadership or shift lead experience preferred.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction to others.
• Dependable, professional, accountable, and able to lead by example.
• Strong situational awareness and the ability to remain calm in high-energy settings.
• Skilled in de-escalation and handling intoxicated guests in a safety-minded manner.
• Professional, respectful, and consistent in enforcing policies without bias.
• Comfortable working late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical aspects of security work..

Position Details & Benefits

• Job Type: Full-time, Hourly
• Compensation: $25/hour when scheduled as Shift Lead; $22/hour when scheduled as a Security Team Member.
• Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
