SUMMARY: POSITION INFO: JOB DESCRIPTION The Group currently has a vacancy for a Security Supervisor to join the team at the Secunda branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the Secunda security operations. The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager. He/she will also have to: Daily inspection of security officers and equipment Maintain security standards Conduct weekly searches and locker searches Training security officers to ensure the safety of the company’s employees, clients and property Deployment of security staff Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems to Management Ensuring discipline and standards are maintained Ensure access and egress are controlled Ensure that all gates are always manned Ensure that all assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises Ensure any item leaving SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation Ensure that all company rules, policies and procedures are always adhered to QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent. At least 3 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector. Driver’s license will be advantageous. Registered with PSIRA – Minimum Grade B. QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES: Able to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues. Hard-working and self-motivated. Strong interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Flexible and willing to work overtime Disciplined to apply company policies and procedures. Willing to work irregular hours and overtime.
