Security Supervisor

Hyatt Regency Nairobi is seeking a disciplined, experienced and highly dependable Security Supervisor to support the leadership of the hotel’s Security function and ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our guests, colleagues and assets. We are looking for a confident security professional who can lead a team, manage incidents calmly, enforce standards consistently and work effectively across a fast-paced hotel environment.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Security leadership team, the Security Supervisor will support the day-to-day operation of the Security function, ensuring effective protection of guests, colleagues, hotel property, information and assets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise Security Officers and ensure effective deployment across all hotel areas.
• Lead security operations during assigned shifts and ensure proper handover between teams.
• Monitor access control, CCTV, patrols, key control, parking and other security systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies and guest or colleague concerns.
• Conduct investigations and prepare accurate, timely and confidential incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with hotel security procedures, emergency response protocols and brand standards.
• Coordinate effectively with Police, Fire Services, medical responders and other relevant authorities when required.
• Conduct regular security inspections and identify vulnerabilities or potential risks.
• Support emergency drills, evacuation procedures and crisis-response preparedness.
• Monitor contractor, visitor and delivery access in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Ensure Security Officers maintain professional appearance, conduct, alertness and service standards.
• Coach, brief and develop Security Officers and maintain appropriate accountability.
• Support loss prevention and the protection of hotel assets.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive security information.
• Work closely with Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, F&B and other departments to address security risks.
• Maintain a visible, professional and guest-focused presence throughout the hotel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Certificate in Security Management, Criminology, Police Studies, Risk Management or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ security experience , preferably within a hotel, hospitality, corporate or similarly complex environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory security role.
• Experience within an international hotel or hospitality brand will be highly advantageous.
• Previous Hyatt experience will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of access control, CCTV, incident management, investigations and emergency response.
• Strong understanding of security procedures, loss prevention and workplace safety.
• Experience managing and developing a security team.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate security records.
