We're looking for a hands-on security professional who understands how commercial access control, video surveillance, and integrated security systems are installed, configured, tested, and maintained.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems, and taking ownership of their work from installation through final system verification.

You'll work with commercial security technologies while supporting projects that require attention to detail, quality workmanship, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

As a Security Installation/System Specialist, you will:

  • Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial electronic security systems.

  • Perform low-voltage cabling, device termination, equipment mounting, and system wiring.
  • Assist with programming, configuration, and commissioning of security systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and network connectivity issues.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Verify system functionality and ensure installations meet project specifications and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, technical teams, contractors, and customers to complete assigned work.
  • Perform system upgrades, modifications, repairs, and preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Document completed work, service activities, testing results, and system configurations.
  • Identify installation challenges and recommend practical solutions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and assigned company resources.
  • Follow established safety procedures, installation standards, and quality requirements.
  • Provide professional customer support and basic system operation guidance when needed.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with commercial electronic security systems and understands both the installation and technical troubleshooting sides of the industry.

We're especially interested in technicians who can work independently, recognize installation or system issues, and help deliver reliable solutions without requiring constant supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting low-voltage or electronic security systems.
  • Working knowledge of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, or related commercial security technologies.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and standard installation materials.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in commercial construction and occupied facilities.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of field installation work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to meet applicable licensing and regulatory requirements for assigned work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience installing and servicing commercial access control and IP video surveillance systems.
  • Experience with electronic door hardware, card readers, controllers, cameras, NVRs, and integrated security equipment.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, including IP addressing, switches, PoE, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with security system programming, commissioning, and system verification.
  • Experience working on commercial construction projects, renovations, or existing-facility upgrades.
  • Familiarity with manufacturers and platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, Axis, HID, Bosch, or similar commercial security technologies.
  • Relevant manufacturer training, industry certifications, or applicable Texas security licensing.
