Security Systems Service Technician (Commercial)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Security Systems Service Technician (Commercial) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and surveillance systems across commercial properties. Responsibilities

• Install and configure security systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarms, sensors, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) in commercial settings.
• Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and remote access software.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on low voltage electrical systems, cabling, and related hardware.
• Interpret technical schematics and system design documents to accurately install and modify security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate solutions, including alarm system sales when applicable.
• Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
• Stay current with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements and emerging security technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician in security systems or related field service roles.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking, computer hardware, telecommunication systems, and low voltage electrical wiring.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and schematics for system installation and repair.
• Familiarity with surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, fire alarm systems, and remote access software.
• Electrical experience including cabling techniques, construction practices, and understanding of NEC standards.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately for system design or troubleshooting purposes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently in complex security environments.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members while providing clear technical guidance. Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
