Security Systems Specialist

G & W Contracts Ltd is actively recruiting a Security Systems Specialist to support the operation and maintenance of physical security systems across our multinational client’s Global facilities.

You will help keep CCTV, access control and alarm systems operating reliably, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and manage service requests through to completion.

The successful candidate will be employed by G & W Contracts Ltd and work closely with the client’s security team, facilities teams, IT colleagues and specialist contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security-related service requests, prioritise issues, maintain ticket updates and track completion against agreed service levels.
• Carry out routine CCTV and access control health checks, including camera availability, image quality, readers, door status and alarm events.
• Complete site walkthroughs and equipment inspections, record defects and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs, including contractor attendance, site access, permits, parts and suitable work windows.
• Assist with authorised installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of security equipment within your training and competence.
• Coordinate specialist electrical, mechanical and gate-safety work with approved contractors.
• Maintain accurate service logs, asset records and technical documentation.
• Follow approved change-control procedures and handle security information, footage and access records confidentially.
• Report security incidents, system faults and unsafe conditions promptly.

What we are looking for

• Ideally three or more years’ experience working with electronic security systems, or equivalent demonstrated practical capability.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining or diagnosing faults in CCTV, access control or intruder alarm systems.
• Working knowledge of IP cameras, video management systems, access readers and controllers, door contacts and alarm panels.
• Understanding of basic IP networking, cabling and Power over Ethernet troubleshooting.
• Experience using service-ticket systems, maintenance checklists and asset records.
• Experience coordinating specialist contractors for security system maintenance and repairs.
• Strong organisational, communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and produce clear technical updates.
• Willingness to travel between assigned Dublin-area sites, with a suitable driving licence where driving is required.

A relevant electronic security, electrical or networking qualification, manufacturer training, or experience in data centres or other critical facilities would be an advantage.
