Security Technician

About the Role

ADT Security is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Security Service Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of electronic security systems, ensuring our customers receive outstanding service and technical support.

Working across a variety of customer sites, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality security solutions while maintaining ADT's reputation for professionalism, reliability, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems to the highest standards.
• Attend scheduled and reactive service calls, ensuring timely resolution of customer issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system health checks across customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and implement effective corrective actions.
• Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records, and associated documentation.
• Provide customers with recommendations and quotations for repairs, upgrades, and minor works.
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
• Represent ADT Security professionally at all times through excellent communication, presentation, and conduct.
• Maintain accurate job information using company systems and software.
• Support ADT's Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience within the electronic security industry as a Security Technician or Senior Security Technician.

• Strong technical knowledge of:

  • CCTV and video surveillance systems
  • Access control systems
  • Intruder alarm systems
  • Integrated electronic security solutions

• Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong customer service and relationship management abilities.

• High level of computer literacy and confidence learning new technologies and software platforms.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A current and valid New Zealand Driver Licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Certifications

• Integriti Certification
• Gallagher Access Control Certification
• Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT)
• Security Technician Licence or relevant industry certifications
• Experience working with a broad range of electronic security platforms and integrated systems
