Seed Technology Support Specialist

Fulltime: 37,5 uur Standplaats: De Kwakel The function of Seed Technology Support Specialist is a support role for Takii Europe’s Supply Chain and Sales department in the EMEA region. The Seed Technology Support Specialist will be part of Takii Europe’s Quality Assurance Group but cooperates with R&D and Sales as well in an operational and commercial context throughout the organization.

What you will be doing

As Seed Technology Support Specialist, you will participate in and assist with various projects across different areas:

• Seed Physiology Research, conducting research and trials on seed physiology and germination processes. You will investigate environmental and genetic factors affecting seed performance, including seed dormancy, maturation and aging, with the aim of optimizing seed quality.
• Applied Seed Technology, establishing, maintaining and reviewing process controls and optimizing seed technology procedures. You will also support the Seed Processing department in troubleshooting equipment and finding practical solutions to technical challenges.
• Trials and Experiments, preparing, conducting and scoring laboratory and field trials, as well as analysing the results. You will contribute to translating new scientific protocols into practical, day-to-day routines.
• Data Analysis and Reporting, collecting, analysing and reporting data from trials and experiments. You will translate research results into clear insights and recommendations for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Innovation and Technology, staying up to date with developments in seed physiology and related technologies. You will identify opportunities to improve pre- and post-harvest processes, with a focus on efficiency, data accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• External Collaboration, maintaining good working relationships with external seed processing partners and working with relevant laboratories, industry partners and other organizations.
• Compliance and Documentation, ensuring that activities and processes comply with company requirements, industry regulations and quality standards.

In short, as Seed Technology Support Specialist, you will contribute to improving seed technology and processing through a combination of scientific research, practical problem-solving and data-driven insights. Your work will help Takii continuously improve the quality, efficiency and reliability of its seed processes.

What we expect from you

You have a minimum HBO-level education in life sciences, applied plant research or an equivalent field, preferably with experience in research and development within the agricultural or horticultural sector. You have an analytical and pragmatic mindset and are comfortable working with data, databases and statistical analysis.

You can work independently as well as in a team, manage multiple projects and set the right priorities. You communicate effectively with colleagues across different departments and levels. Experience with Office 365 and statistical software such as R or Python is an advantage. You have a good command of English and Dutch.

In dit gesprek wordt dieper ingegaan op de werkzaamheden van de functie en de samenwerking binnen het team/met andere afdelingen. Enkele van deze collega’s zijn dan ook aanwezig tijdens het gesprek. Een leuke gelegenheid om te vragen hoe hun werkdag eruit ziet en wat hun drijfveren zijn!

Vervolgstappen

Als jij de kandidaat bent die wij willen gaan aannemen dan ben je er nu bijna! Afhankelijk van de functie waarop je solliciteert, kan nog een (online) assessment deel uitmaken van de procedure. Tijdens het sollicitatieproces wordt door HR een referentiecheck gedaan om goede verhalen over jou en je vorige werkzaamheden te horen.
