Self-Employed Courier Driver – Long (Bristol)

We are seeking reliable, motivated, and safety-focused Independent Long-Haul Delivery Drivers to join our logistics network. As a self-employed contractor, you will operate your own vehicle to transport goods over long distances across regional and nationwide routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Freight Transportation: Transport freight over long-distance routes safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to scheduled drop-off times.
• Route & Load Planning: Plan efficient driving routes while accounting for weather, traffic, road conditions, and necessary rest stops.
• Vehicle & Cargo Inspection: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure roadworthiness. Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Logistics & Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery records, obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) via mobile app or paperwork, and complete necessary consignment documents.
• Client & Dispatch Communication: Serve as a professional representative on behalf of our brand during customer handoffs and maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding route progress or delays.
• Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant transport regulations, speed limits, vehicle weight restrictions, and rest-break requirements.

Key Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License: Appropriate for the weight class of vehicle operated (e.g., standard license or commercial/heavy vehicle qualification).
• Vehicle Ownership / Lease: Access to a reliable, clean, and insured delivery vehicle suitable for long-distance transport (e.g., Van, Lutons, Box Truck, or HGV).
• Self-Employment Status: Registered as self-employed with necessary business documentation and active tax identification.
• Required Insurances: Active or willingness to obtain relevant insurances, including:
• Commercial Vehicle Insurance (Business/Courier use)
• Goods in Transit (GIT) Cover
• Public Liability Insurance
• Clean Driving Record: Strong driving history with minimal or no infractions.
• Equipment: A modern smartphone for GPS navigation, job dispatch apps, and digital proof-of-delivery tracking.
• Physical Capability: Ability to handle long hours behind the wheel and safely load/unload cargo if required by the job type.
