Slade Farm Organics is an established mixed organic family farm near Bridgend, South Wales. We are looking for an experienced and reliable self-employed Tractor Operator to join our small team.

The role will be for approximately 3–4 days per week, generally working 7.30am to around 5.00pm. Saturday working is required, with the exact days worked varying depending on the seasonal workload, weather and farming operations.

The work will include a range of tractor and machinery operations across our arable and livestock farming enterprises, including ploughing, cultivations, drilling, topping and hedge cutting. There will also be opportunities for other general farm work depending on experience and the seasonal workload.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has good, proven experience operating tractors and modern farm machinery
• Is a competent and confident machinery operator
• Has experience with ploughing and cultivations
• Has experience or an interest in hedge cutting
• Has telehandler experience/certification
• Holds a full UK driving licence
• Is reliable, practical and able to work independently
• Can work well as part of a small team
• Takes pride in operating and looking after machinery
• Has a good understanding of safe working practices

Experience with arable farming, livestock and basic workshop/mechanical skills would be an advantage.

The Role

• Self-employed / contractor basis – not PAYE
• Approximately 3–4 days per week
• Typical working hours 7.30am–5.00pm
• Saturday working is required
• Working days may vary according to the season, weather and farming requirements
• Work based on our farm near Bridgend, South Wales
• Competitive day rate, dependent on experience

This would suit an experienced agricultural contractor or tractor operator looking for regular work with an established organic farm.
