POSITION: Maintenance Staff

LOCATION: Chico, CA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, 8:45am-5:15pm with scheduled 30 minute lunch (12pm-12:30pm)

WAGES: $18.00/hour with potential for increase after the first year.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for day-to-day maintenance duties at two self-storage facilities. Must be a hard worker, reliable, trustworthy, and a self-starter. This person works closely with office staff and under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and General Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Replace latches on unit doors
• Drilling/Cutting locks
• Patching holes in drywall
• Minor repairs of fencing and gates
• Cleaning gutters
• Blowing/raking leaves
• Unloading abandoned units (Must be able to lift up to 50lbs)
• Sweeping
• Managing weeds
• Touch up painting
• Note Taking/Documentation
• Other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Keeps an organized work space as it will be used by other staff.
• Comfortable communicating through email and text and using a web-based time-keeping software
• Ability to understand, follow, and follow up on oral and written instructions and complete forms required for daily duties.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a mode of transportation for traveling between two sites. (Mileage is reimbursed).
• Demonstrates strong work ethic. Uses time productively to accomplish challenging work goals.
• Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the mechanical and building trades (OSHA).
• Must be flexible; position requires the ability to work with multiple facilities/managers.
• Knowledge of gate and access control systems is a plus.
