About the Role

Flexzo Teach is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive alternative education provider based in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The organisation provides a personalised and inclusive learning environment for students who may struggle within mainstream education due to additional learning, emotional or behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to provide tailored assistance, helping students build confidence, develop independence and achieve their individual learning goals.

The school is looking for someone who is patient, adaptable and enthusiastic about making a positive difference to young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students with SEND, both one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities.
• Support pupils with their emotional, social and behavioural development.
• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year's experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Experience working within a school, alternative provision or specialist education setting.
• A good understanding of additional learning, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people's development.
