Position Type: Casual/Part-Time

About Us

Learn Active NW is a leading coaching and teaching company committed to enhancing the physical and mental well-being of children of all ages and abilities. Our programmes focus on fostering holistic development through physical activity, mindfulness, and educational enrichment. We are passionate about creating inclusive environments where every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can thrive.

Position Overview

In this role, you will work with children of all ages and abilities, including those with SEND, to promote physical health, mental well-being, and social development. You will deliver engaging, fun, and inclusive sessions that cater to the diverse needs of each child, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and a love for active living. This job will be evenings 5-7pm (additional hours available) and will be a 'youth club' style session for children with SEND.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and Deliver Sessions: Create and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate sports and well-being sessions that engage and motivate SEND children of varying abilities, ensuring inclusivity for all.
  • Support Holistic Development: Incorporate mindfulness practices and mental well-being activities into sessions to support the overall development of each child.
  • Adaptability: Modify activities and approaches to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all participants.
  • Build Relationships: Foster strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Monitor Progress: Track the progress of each child, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their personal goals.
  • Safeguarding: Adhere to all safeguarding and health and safety policies to ensure the well-being of all participants.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEND children in a coaching, teaching, or childcare capacity.
  • Strong understanding of child development, physical education, and mental well-being practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire children of all ages.
  • Ability to work flexibly, adapting to the needs of different children and environments.
  • Relevant coaching or teaching qualifications are preferred.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding certifications (or willingness to obtain them).

What We Offer

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Flexible working hours that fit around your schedule.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children.
