Setting Manager / SENCo

SEN Support Practitioner – Come and Make a Difference!

Are you passionate about helping children shine? Do you love seeing those little lightbulb moments and celebrating every achievement, big or small?

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Support Practitioner to join our wonderful nursery team at Winston's Place Day Nursery & Preschool.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a real passion for supporting children with additional needs and wants to be part of a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is valued for who they are.

What will you be doing?

Every day is different! You will work alongside our experienced nursery team and SENCo to help children with additional needs feel happy, confident and included.

You might be:

  • Supporting a child to join in with their friends and explore new experiences.
  • Helping children develop their communication, confidence and independence.
  • Adapting activities so every child can take part and enjoy learning through play.
  • Celebrating those amazing little milestones that others might not notice – because we know that every achievement matters.
  • Using fun and creative ways to support children's communication and understanding.
  • Helping children with their emotional regulation and sensory needs.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with children and their families.

You will have the opportunity to get to know the children you support really well and help them to grow in confidence, develop new skills and reach their full potential.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, caring and nurturing.
  • Patient and understanding.
  • Creative and enthusiastic.
  • Passionate about inclusion and supporting children with additional needs.
  • A great team player.
  • Confident in building positive relationships with children and families.
  • Someone who can celebrate the small wins and recognise that progress looks different for every child.

A Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable, alongside experience of working with children with SEND. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, passion and heart for the role.

Experience or knowledge of Autism, communication and language needs, sensory processing, Makaton, PECS or other communication strategies would be an advantage, but training and support will be provided where appropriate.

What we can offer you

At Winston's Place, we believe that our staff are just as important as the children we care for. You will be joining a supportive team where your ideas are valued and where we want you to grow and develop alongside us.

You can expect:

  • A friendly and supportive team.
  • A fun and rewarding working environment.
  • Opportunities for training and professional development.
  • The chance to make a genuine difference to children's lives.
  • Support from our SENCo's and wider management team.
  • A nursery where we believe every child deserves to feel safe, loved, included and celebrated.

If you are someone who gets excited by a child's first word, celebrates when they finally join in with a group activity, or feels proud when a child achieves something they once found difficult, we would love to hear from you.

Come and join our team and help us make every child's journey a special one.

Apply now and tell us why you would be the perfect person to join our SEN support team.
