SEND Support Worker / SEND Specialist

Compass SEN Support

Compass SEN Support is looking for caring, reliable and experienced SEND Support Workers and Specialists to join our growing network of professionals supporting children, young people and families.

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including SEND support workers, experienced Teaching Assistants, autism practitioners, learning support practitioners, speech and communication specialists, occupational therapy professionals, music and creative practitioners, and other professionals with relevant SEND experience or specialist skills.

Depending on your experience and availability, opportunities may include:

• Supporting children and families with individual support plans

Compass Onboarding – Getting You Ready for Work

Successful applicants complete the Compass onboarding and compliance process before being cleared as ready for work.

Compass guides you through the information and documentation required, including:

• Employment and relevant experience
• SEND experience and specialist skills
• Qualifications and supporting certificates
• References
• Safeguarding information
• Emergency contact details
• Availability and preferred working distance
• Required compliance documentation
• DBS information and checks

DBS Required

An appropriate DBS check is required before being cleared for relevant work with children and young people.

If you already have a suitable DBS certificate, you can provide the details during onboarding.

If you do not currently have one, you must be willing to apply for the appropriate DBS check as part of becoming ready for work.

Compass onboarding keeps your required information together and shows you what is still outstanding before you can be cleared for work.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for people who are reliable, patient, professional and genuinely interested in supporting children and young people with SEND.

Relevant qualifications are welcomed, but we also recognise substantial practical SEND experience.

All appointments and opportunities are subject to the appropriate safeguarding, identity, Right to Work, reference, DBS and compliance requirements.
